I have been playing WoW again. I finished another quest, accepted a few more, and wandered into territory I clearly cannot handle. I have been killed 4 times in a row: Bear, PvP, PvP, some other creature. (sigh) I guess I will need to wander back into safer areas to gain more experience before I get too frustrated. Since I am dead anyway, I am taking a break to read blogs.
This was of interest to me.
And this... is he kidding?!?
Becker's article for class this week (Pedagogy in Commercial Video Games) says use of Gagne's five kinds of learning instruction would support progress in the player with appropriate triggers and hints. WoW does a pretty good job of this, although I am still working out the interface and options menus. I feel certain that everything I would need or want to know is there somewhere, but it doesn't feel completely intuitive to me.
I'll play a little more tonight and try to stay alive while intermittently watching results from the primary elections. :)
